We have recently performed an exercise in the office for several clients in order to determine the cost base of the shares they hold in BHP Billiton Limited.
Since 1999 there has been the spinoff of three companies from BHP; One Steel, BHP Steel and now South 32. There has also been the merger during this period between BHP and Billiton. All of these actions have affected the cost base of what is currently BHP Billiton Limited. This cost base will need to be determined when the shares are eventually sold.
We are currently offering to calculate the cost base of BHP Billiton Limited shares for a set fee of $264 inclusive of GST.
